Where is Turku?

The city of Turku is located on the Southwest coast of Finland on the shores of the famous Archipelago.


Conference area

The conference will be held at the University of Turku. University Campus area is located near the centre of Turku, about 1 km from the city centre Market Square.
The easiest way to get to the University of Turku from city centre is to walk along the riverside, pass the Cathedral, and then continue the walkway behind the Cathedral to the campus area.

It is also possible to take a bus from the Market Square to Hämeenkatu.  All local buses from Hämeenkatu go to the Market Square. A single bus ticket with 2 hours of changing time costs EUR 3.

Turku Airport:

Turku airport is located approx. 7 km from the centre of Turku. You can take bus no. 1 directly from Turku Airport to city center, which leaves each 20 minutes. Please find more detailed timetables here.  The same bus goes also to Harbor.

The ticket costs EUR 3 and EUR 4  between 11pm and 4am.

Helsinki-Vantaa airport:

Helsinki-Vantaa airport is situated in Helsinki. You can take a direct bus or train from airport to Turku.

Train:

Turku has train connections from all around Finland. You can take directs trains from Helsinki and Tampere. Trains between Helsinki and Turku do not run to Turku main station, but will terminate and depart at Kupittaa instead due to track work. Please select Kupittaa (Turku) in your search to view more results. Read more at vr.fi/turku.

Bus:

Turku bus station is situated near the centre of Turku.

Turku Harbour:

From Stockholm, you may choose to travel to Turku on a ferry through one of the most beautiful archipelagos in the world. Daily connections between Stockholm and Turku are operated by Tallink Silja and Viking Line. The ferry takes about 10 hrs.

There are several Taxi providers in the Turku region.
