How to participate
Onsite
University of Turku campus area
The conference will be held at the University of Turku campus area in the main square where new and old buildings form the heart of the university. The buildings are Agora, Natura and Päärakennus (main building). University is near the centre of Turku, about 1 km from the city centre Market Square.
The onsite participants will have full access to the academic conference platform Oxford Abstracts. The platform will present a dynamic conference schedule and the abstracts and posters of the presenters. All registered participants will receive a personal login link to access the platform before the conference.
How to get to the onsite venue
The easiest way to get to the onsite venue from city centre is to walk along the riverside, pass the Cathedral, continue to walk through the stairs to Yliopistonmäki. It is also possible to take a bus from the Market Square to Hämeenkatu. All local buses from Hämeenkatu go to the Market Square. Virtual
OA Academic Conference Platform
The virtual implementation of the conference takes place on a versatile academic conference platform called Oxford Abstracts. It is a digital collaboration tool, known for its ease of use, flexibility, and security. The platform works both on desktop and mobile. For best experience, make sure to use the latest version of your internet browser, e.g. Chrome (recommended), Firefox, Safari or Edge.
Virtual participants can follow the scientific programme as a live stream on the conference platform. You will also find the stream sessions an the virtual posters on the platform. The platform networking features include event chat where you can chat with other attendees or ask questions from the presenters, private chat which allows you to message with other attendees directly, and a group chat.
How to access the Oxford Abstracts academic conference platform
All registered participants will receive a personal login link to access the platform before the conference.
General technical instructions for participants:
- Functional Internet connection is essential in virtual events.
- We recommend that you close all other applications on your computer to make sure the full capacity of your Internet connection is available.
- Browser: the latest version of Chrome is recommended for the best experience.
- Sound: Headphones with microphone are the best way to participate in virtual events.
